Wake up to Snow |
Have you ever heard the sound of trees crashing to the
ground. Branches snapping and falling to the snow cover ground beneath. It
woke me up a 4am in the morning, silence then a sudden crash of timber. I
went to the door and what did I see......... |

Feed me please |
With the snow covering the grass, all the North Island
Cattle could not work out how to have a feed. So the best way was to stand
and wait. So a new experience for me Feeding out in the snow. |

Feeding Out |
With our little tractor stuck with the post rammer on
it, there was not choice but to choose a well proven 4wd. One problem,
Road Tyres, So Jack it up and change to Mud and Snow. After the LR
falling off the Jack, I was soon on the way and all Highland Coo's were
given a good feed of hay. |

South Island know how |
It was interesting to note that the South Island
Highland cattle got to the grass by sticking their nose in the snow. Poor
old North islanders had never seen the stuff and just waited each day for
their hay. |

Old softy |
Mr
McNabb of Glen Cannich from the sunny Bay of Plenty was totally put out by
all this cold. Where is all the sun shine?
